HTSACC staff, as responsible caregivers, will enhance children’s days. We will provide enjoyable experiences in a safe and caring environment. Through planned activities, children can express creativity, foster appropriate interaction, learn and grow.
Chess Wizards is a fun way to have kids experience the excitement of chess. With half-day and full-day options, kids will play in mini-tournaments, have interactive lessons with chess pros, and play cool chess variants like bug house. It is proven that chess enhances cognitive development in children, improves both verbal and mathematical skills, and increases all levels of academic performance! Playing chess stimulates the mind and helps children strengthen skills such as focusing, visualizing goals, abstract thinking, and forming concrete opinions. Instructors (who are called "Wizards") provide all the materials necessary for your child to participate in the class, and no additional purchase is required to attend. Snacks will be provided, but full-day kids should bring a lunch. All students will receive a trophy, puzzle folder, and wizard t-shirt. Come join the fun!
Please note, different games, strategies, and lessons will be provided in the AM vs PM sessions for kids who want to enroll in both sessions.
